Automated Warehouse – High Speed Pallet Wrapping

Project Overview

We were asked by a well-known warehouse automation provider to put forward our solution for a high-throughput, multi-line pallet wrapping requirement.

The budget was tight, and specifications were exacting with a challenging throughput of 100 pallets/hr per line. Plus, feeding directly to an automatic high-bay warehouse, wrap standards were critical.

The high overall throughput of the customer operation dictated high volumes of stretch film being used. It was therefore very important that we could optimise not only load to pallet security but also strive for the best possible efficiency of film usage with the capability to use modern nano and re-cycled content films.

What we achieved…

Having reviewed all specifications and requirements with the OEM, we opted to recommend our Revolution HS Double machines, which have the capability to meet the throughput and provide a relatively low-tech solution in a conventional rotary arm format, proven over decades.

Operation and interaction with our Revolution machines is simple and familiar to most warehouse operatives. We supplied, installed and commissioned in time with the OEM schedule and also invested additional time, sharing our experience and expertise in commissioning the machines for optimum performance.

Benefit 1

We were able to supply three machines which have capably met all requirements; achieve maximum throughput, meet requirements for load to pallet stability and a wrap quality sufficient for the automated handling system.

Benefit 2

The Revolution also provides an additional level of redundancy with the capability to operate with one film carriage if required. The three machines are identical with all parts interchangeable.
